The Hotel-Hostal Sport promotes fork breakfast to mark the Rally RACC Catalonia

One of the typical dishes of Catalan cuisine maintains its essence to Priorat, to the fashion of brunches in cities

At Hotel-Hostal Sport of Falset, Priorat, we promote breakfasts fork for the 48th edition of Rally RACC Catalonia that started today and lasts until Sunday November 11.

Sport's restaurant regularly serve this dish typical Catalan cuisine, especially on Sundays. Coinciding with the Rally, which has the longest stage on the roads of Priorat, we performed a more intense information campaign among members and organizers for motor racing fans who know our cuisine.
 
The Fork breakfast is a dish which is served early in the morning and includes a wide range of typical products of Priorat, as its name suggests, to be eaten with "fork". The menu includes from escalivada with sardines from the coast to fried cod with garlic and ganxet beans, fried eggs with ham, black sausage, rack of lamb with aioli and different toast or "Coca bread" of Priorat.
 
In our case, the fork breakfasts are a classic already served when the establishment opened in 1923. At that time, the first generation cooked "truita amb suc i mandongo" to travelers who stopped in Falset to going to Alcañiz, often for professional reasons.
 
Currently, the dishes are maintained and expanded the assortment, besides popularizing the initiative to restore old gastronomic traditions. The client profile it's different now. They are often motorists, cyclists and hunters that stop at the Sport to taste the cooked sausage with black olives, tomato sauce and onion confit, one of the most recommended dishes that is often accompanied with wine from the DO Montsant or DOQ Priorat.
